This video makes me feel strong, for I am the ancestor of distaster and nothing can break what was created by breaking.
It makes me feel important, because I can sit in peace today and share this with the entire world at once, because an ancient brother discovered fire in a solitary cave, an old sister found she could plant seeds to harvest later, because a historic father bled at the end of a spear. So that I may enjoy humanity as it stands today.
It moves me to do more, because when consolidated - history is not an era, or a document.
History is not 45 minutes before the bell rings, it’s not “Four scores and Seven Years ago”.
History is now. Its a living thing that spans infinity and bloodlines. It is the second by second result of actions taken and not taken.
History is a beautiful piece of art, never quite finished, with the paintbrush, pen, voice, that started it being handed down from one generation to the next.
History is now.
History, is us.
